International Antarctic Centre

Located in the heart of a working campus, it is from here that most Antarctic missions are planned. Twice judged New Zealand's best attraction, the centre is a must see when visiting Christchurch.

Visitors can enjoy the wonder of Antarctica with a fun, exciting and interactive experience. Take an outdoor ride on the Hagglund, our all terrain amphibian vehicle. Imported from Sweden, these vehicles will take you over an exciting outdoor adventure course - even swimming in water!

Enjoy a snow & ice experience in our polar room. Slide down an icy slope, brave the wind chill machine at -18 C or get exchillarated in the Antarctic Storm - a worlds first indoor storm!
