New 300 Bed Central Christchurch Accommodation Opens
Christchurch’s largest budget accommodation provider opened recently with a new 300 bed central city budget hotel. With bookings through to April next year, the $8 million All Stars Inn is viewed as a key development for the Canterbury region, both for the accommodation industry and the wider economy.
Providing a mix of 42 private rooms and 37 dormitory rooms and located on Bealey Avenue, the new development is near the heart of the city as well as being easy to access from Christchurch airport.
General Manager, Phil Leslie, believes the new complex will enhance the city's tourism industry. “This is arguably the most important development for the rejuvenation of tourism in the region,” said Leslie who added that they're very excited about being able to help inject some life back into the region.
Chief Executive of Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism, Tim Hunter, agreed this type of accommodation is really important for the local tourism sector. Hunter said the Inn will significantly boost capacity in the budget accommodation category in Christchurch.
Features of the new development include free WiFi in every part of the building, USB ports in all rooms and individual charging stations in all dormitory rooms. There is also a Bealey’s Speight’s Ale House bar and restaurant on site, a guest kitchen, entertainment lounge, games room, BBQ area, laundry facility and travel desk.
The method of building construction of the new complex is unique. It uses an XLam pre-fabricated building system made from natural green resources and the All Stars Inn is a first of its kind in Christchurch's rebuild.
